If you asked me describe space flight in three words, it would simply take the fire . Of course, in Greek mythology was a god (some say Apollo) who ran across the sky the sun in a fiery chariot. But what about humans? How could carry the fire? Then with great caution, with a lot of planning and running considerable risks, because it is a highly sensitive load, and the carrier must be alert at all times to avoid spilling. I was carrying the flame for six years and now wish to relate my adventure, flat and straight, as befits a test pilot, for that trip is worth telling.
